Agatha Christie

"Murder on the Orient Express"

Amazingly I
had not read
this novel.
It's so great.
Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks.

The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning it is one passenger fewer.
An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside.

Isolated and with a killer in their midst, detective Hercule Poirot must identify the murderer – in case he or she decides to strike again.

"Appointment With Death"

When a former prison wardress who dominates the lives of her three adult stepchildren and her daughter is found dead at an archaeological dig near the Dead Sea, there are a great many suspects.

Among the towering red cliffs of Petra sits the corpse of Mrs Boynton, a tiny puncture mark on her wrist the only sign of what has killed her. Hercule Poirot has only 24 hours to solve the mystery.
