Jay Brandon

Jay Brandon interview
About Jay Brandon: On one hand, he is a successful attorney in San Antonio, Texas, on the other, a mystery novelist. With a mmaster's degree in writing from Johns Hopkins University and experience as an attorney with the District Attorney's office in Bexar County and with the Fourth Court of Appeals, Brandon knows his settings.

Each of his novels takes aspects of people, places and happenings in the world of law and adds his own brand of gripping suspense and excellent writing.

On a personal note, he wrote a column for The Bugle Call, the newspaper at Robert E. Lee High School in San Antonio where I taught for six years. Over the summer, I read all of Jay's books and this piqued my interest in mystery or detective novels.

Jay Brandon Book List

"The Jetty"

Michael and Kathy set off on a romantic seaside vacation to the Texas Gulf Coast where they meet the wealthy and glamorous Jack and Vivian Leffler. Kathy is captivated by the Lefflers’ worldly sophistication, but Michael senses something disturbing and even other-worldly about Kathy’s new friends.

Why are the Lefflers so obsessed with the scandalous 1920’s? What is their connection to an unsolved robbery, to a mysterious drowning? Ultimately, the answers lie waiting on the jumbled, jagged rocks of "The Jetty."

I have read all of Brandon's books on the list.
